Bio

Born in Sardinia, Paola Lepori has always been a traveller with an innate curiosity for the world. A Mediterranean Sea dweller and lover, she grew passionate about its southern shores and studied Arab history and culture. She gained her undergraduate degree at La Sapienza, in Rome, and an MA in Near and Middle Eastern Studies at SOAS – University of London. She moved to Jordan and later Syria and immersed herself into their societies and culture. Sadly, she was forced to return from Damascus while the country was sinking into the ongoing civil war. In 2014, Paola spent an exchange semester in Australia. Back in Rome, she graduated in International Relations at Roma Tre University.

Now, she contributes to some Italian newspapers and volunteers as social media communication officer for the grassroots organisation Project Amal ou Salam.

Note to Italian/English readers:
Blogs in English are not necessarily literal translations of the Italian versions simply because I find most of the times they wouldn’t make sense when transferred from a language and set of references to the other.
