An Iraqi photographic project: Map of Displacement

An interview with the Italian photographer Stefano Carini

This is the story of an Italian photographer and photo editor, Stefano Carini, who directed Iraqi first agency Metrography, and created the Map of Displacement. This impactful and innovative multimedia project – edited by Stefano and another Italian photographer Dario Bosio – tells the story of a million internally displaced Iraqis who sought refuge in Iraqi Kurdistan when they fled the violence of the merciless war between the Iraqi state and ISIS.

Here is what Stefano told me about his work and vision, in an interview for L’Indro.

Please, also visit Map of Displacement and explore the website. It’s a journey in space and time easy to navigate that offers 12 stories told through images, texts and one video (short and incredibly powerful).
