FP’s Christian Caryl on the Kurds and their road to statehood

Provided that I know very little about Kurds (sorry Kurdi friends, you taught me nothing, ha!) and that their situation has always been puzzling to me, what I’m wondering reading this article is how united in their intents are Kurds from Turkey, Syria and Iraq. Do they aim at the same outcomes? Do they share the same perspectives, programmes and strategies? Are they really one community spread across (mostly) three countries or are they really three communities?

The World’s Next Country: the Kurds are on the verge of getting a homeland of their own.If they do, the Middle East will never be the same.
